Swaggerwear : Taking it to the Streets

Word on the street is that there’s a new kind of swag in town. Meet the hip, hop and happening streetwear brand, Swaggerwear. If you’re tucking in your shirt and still sporting 2009’s “bad ass” badges on your mesh caps, head down to 8MS for a swag-over with store owner, Julian.

Inspired by the street and hip hop culture, Julian started Swaggerwear back in the ‘14 with a dream to give Durban local swag attire that never ditched on quality. What started as an online store only selling T-Shirts has levelled up to boast a sweet store right here at 8MS, Swaggerwear’s first flagship store. The store now offers a wide range of thoughtfully made and locally inspired men and women’s wear. Just one way Julian is kicking up street cred in the 031 and South Africa at large.

The brand is already making great waves in the South African street and hip hop scene by dabbling in art, music, dance and the glamorous lives of celebs. Swaggerwear is also part of the Wolfpack, an ever-growing group of talented South Africans dropping hot and happenings in dance, fashion and music.

With an attitude that says it’s what’s on the outside that matters, Julian believes people dress as a means of revealing who they are. One look at Julian and it’s obvious that he lives and breathes Swaggerwear from his stylish getup to his appreciation for business and people.  Using his 9 years of marketing experience, Julian has started a journey hinged on deep consumer, product and service understanding, and it shows.

Come and check out the store and chat to Julian about Swaggerwear’s plans for the future. The store is currently running a whopping giveaway worth two grand of Swaggerwear vouchers. How to get in on the getup giveaway? Simple. Take a selfie in the Swaggerwear store and post it under the #Swaggerwear. Easy peasy.

From the catwalk to the capital, Swaggerwear is quickly becoming a commanding voice in South Africa streetwear. Watch this space.
